Ian McLachlan is a Canadian writer and academic. Best known for his novel ''The Seventh Hexagram'', which was co-winner with Michael Ondaatje's ''Coming Through Slaughter'' of the inaugural Books in Canada First Novel Award in 1976〔"Two writers will share $1,000 prize".
